This character was created at the beginning of the XX Century, by illustrator Jose Guadalupe Posada, to express a social and political resentment towards the most privileged classes. In less than 100 years, the Catrina became one of the most representative icon of Mexican Culture. Every year, during the celebrations of the Day of the Dead, we can admire thousands of women dressed as Catrinas, from the simplest to the most elaborated decoration.

Made of paper mache, and metal wire, clay and laces.
